The 2019 South African Music Awards have come and gone, but thankfully, looks are forever. Granted, not every outfit we saw on the red carpet will be remembered for the right things. Now that we’ve gotten all the glitter out of our eyes, it’s time to reflect on what we loved from this year’s SAMAs style!

Thabsie donned a black Kalahari Fashions dress. The tulle dress was great for her frame, cinching her waist perfectly. With her hair slicked down and away from her face, the drama of the neckline took center stage. Her sandal heels and statement earrings only further complimented her look. Keeping her glam simple, she went with a pop of colour on her lips by way of a bold matte red lipstick. A look!

Kelly Khumalo

Kelly Khumalo stunned in a feathered pink number by TSOTETSI KL. Dramatic trains are tricky business for some people, but Kelly is not one of those people. She didn’t over accessorize either, sporting sparkling earrings, a matching pink hat, and glittery heels. Her glam kept the pink palette going with a statement matte lip.

She could wear a sack of potatoes and still look like she’s wearing couture, but Nomzamo Mbatha brought the glamour the people deserved in a black & gold embellished Gert Johan Coetzee ballgown. Topped with a gold headpiece, her full head of braids was left unstyled except for its curled ends.

Loot Love on the red carpet was everything and then some at the 25th Annual SAMA Awards! The TV and radio personality stunned and sparkled in a silver masterpiece by Orapeleng Modutle. Her thigh length faux locs dramatically accentuated her soft glam beauty for the evening. Slits, much like trains, are often overrated, but she pulled both off with ease. That’s how you handle your first red carpet after having twins, ma’am.

If the host of the SAMA awards red carpet looked anything but spectacular, it just wouldn’t be right. Red carpet co-host Bontle Modiselle looked effervescent in her yellow Masango dress. Our faves love a naked dress, but without the right structure or lining, they can look unfinished – this Masango number worked and it worked well. Styling her dreadlocks in a high bun with decorated bangs, Bontle’s eye makeup peerfectly complimented the red locs in her hair.
