Ryan went on to explain how he keeps fashion fun…
“being a stylist and creative fashion director this is my moment of fun where I get to dress people according to briefs as well as create looks in relation to themes when I shoot for campaigns and brands. The freedom and trust within my industry allows me to try new looks and play around on individuals and tie in looks which make them happy as well as myself.”
Ryan Hing is the fashionable gift that keeps on giving, the designer, stylist and one-man trend wonder is nothing if not completely inspiring! Weaving together killer look after look seems to be an absolute art for him and we’re just loving everything he does. So, we managed to get him to agree to spending a day educating us on how his stylish mind works, starting with where he finds his inspiration for his daily looks.
“I feel as if the outside world and the pride within myself inspires me to dress in a particular way, this does not narrow my creativity in dressing to fall under a certain style or category. My style has certain elements which replicate one another from day to day but are always different within their own sense. This may include the difference in the colour or silhouette of a garment. I am also highly into that hard-Japanese street style, but with my own twist. If I must tie inspiration around my look I’d say that my looks are inspired by that Latino Mexican style or old school B-boy (breakdancer) looks. At the end of the day I just want to be comfortable in what I wear, but still feel good.”
So how did Ryan fall in love with the ever-evolving fashion industry?
“Being in the fashion space on a daily basis always creates new memories, memories which cannot be limited. I push myself and my concepts to grow on a day to day basis and never stop dreaming and achieving where I want to be one day. I do not have a specific time of my best fashion memory as I feel each and every day it grows more and more. This also allows me to never get comfortable but always push myself whether the way I dress myself or the way I dress others.”
