Shellebrate zero waste with Lush

In a day and time when plastic pollution is on the rise and growing at a drastic rate, it makes even more sense to push that much harder to make a difference and push boundaries that much more further. The tide is turning and our favourite body and beauty brand, Lush is at the forefront of it all.

It is a devastating fact that many sea turtles are killed each year due to plastic debris that ends up in the ocean because of us. Turtles are not the only sea life at risk but all sea life are harmed daily. Floating plastic bags get mistaken for jelly fish and thus get eaten by turtles’ causing their death. Lush handmade cosmetics are standing up against this epidemic in the hopes that their efforts will make a difference and in turn see more people following their movement.

In response to their zero waste campaign they have crafted and created turtle jelly bombs for us to enjoy, safe in the knowledge that no marine life will be harmed. A reminder of what the cause is for.

Run a bath to tropical temperatures and set your jelly turtle free! Lower into the water and relax under a bright green blanket of skin softening jelly that spreads to the surface. Fragrant Cypress and Sandalwood oils keep you grounded while pine absolutely refreshes your senses.

“From the belly of the beast, agar agar strands emerge, floating in the water as a reminder of the threat sea turtles face. Cut back on plastic and go naked!”
