Winter is no longer coming, it has arrived! And since we don’t particularly want to blow the budget on an entirely brand spanking new winter wardrobe. Instead we’ve done a little detective work and gotten our paws on the hottest trends right off the runway, this way a couple of items and we’re on trend, feeling fab and most importantly not turning into one of Elsa’s ice sculptures.
Now some may argue that this is hardly a new trend, well honey you’d be right! But animal print never goes out of fashion, from leopard spots to dazzling zebra and tiger wild stripes. And the best part of wearing these prints is no animals were actually harmed in the making of your cute mini dress. So, go big or quite literally go home with coats, dress and even pjs you can look both sexy and powerful with the greatest of ease.
Don’t get us wrong we’re not cheating on velvet which is still a great love of ours, but it’s time to add a little extra spice! And while velvet is elegant and beautiful, leather is hella edgy. A leather mini dress paired with your fave coat and a pair of killer heels is just the ticket if you ask us. Even a cute leather jacket paired with slouchy boyfriend jean or a full-length leather skirt with your brightest pair of ballet pumps and you’re good to go! Go take over the city that is.
Don’t panic or get excited we’re not suggesting that you dress up like a Harry Potter character darling! But why not throw in a dash of old school glamour into your outfit? With the modern version of the cape, draped over your power suit or paired with your sexiest LBD on a night out – makes a refreshing and surprisingly cosy change from your go-to puffer or denim jacket. But be sure to keep this look sharp, tailored and elegantly structured or you might look like you’re wearing a blanket!
We’re not sure why, but suddenly during winter people tend to forget that colours other than black and grey exist? And while we understand some seem to have a deep-seated fear of bright colours, for you its metallics and silver is the king of the catwalk this year. We’re happy to let you skip the pop of colour, but please add a pop of shimmering, light catching, exceptional silver!
